Ultimate Guide to Making Perfect Nachos at Home

Serves 2-4 | 15 Minutes

Ingredients

  • Tortilla Chips (Opt for thick, sturdy chips to hold up under the weight of toppings.)

  • Melting Cheese (We prefer cheddar)

  • Protein of Choice (Black Beans, Chicken, Beef, etc.)

  • 1 Tomato chopped

  • 1 Onion Chopped

  • 5-10 Jala-Lujah Jalapenos

  • 2-3 tbs of Salsa (fresh salsa or pico de gallo works best)

  • 3 tbs Fresh Guac

  • 2-3 tbs Sour Cream

  • 2 tsp Salt

  • 2 tsp Pepper

  • *Optional: Taco Seasoning, Cilantro for garnish

Recipe Instructions

1. For extra crispiness, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the chips alone for about 5 minutes before adding other ingredients. This ensures they remain crunchy even with toppings.

2. Place a generous layer of tortilla chips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle evenly with cheese and your chosen protein. Repeat the layering process until you’ve used up all the ingredients or reached your desired amount.

3. Once the base layers are ready, add your diced tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños. Top with more cheese if desired.

Tip: If you like your nachos spicy, add slices of fresh jalapeño or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes.

4. Place the nachos in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning.

5. Once out of the oven, immediately add fresh guacamole, salsa, sour cream, and any additional toppings you prefer. Serve hot.

For a fresh touch, sprinkle some chopped cilantro or scallions over the top before serving.
